Newborn Photography Packages

Explore our range of newborn photography packages designed to fit every budget, family need, and style. Whether you’re looking for a simple session featuring just your newborn, or a more extensive session that includes various looks with parents, grandparents, siblings, and pets—we have options to suit families of all sizes and preferences.

We specialize in capturing beautiful, timeless memories of your newborn in those precious early days. Studio sessions are held at our beautiful photography studio in Castro Valley, but we also offer at-home sessions for clients across the entire San Francisco Bay Area.

The process:

  1. Contact Us: Send us a message with your due date (or your baby’s birthdate if they’re already born).
  2. Confirm Your Session: Let us know which package suits you best, and we’ll confirm your session date.
  3. Retainer Fee: A $290 retainer fee is required to secure your spot on our calendar. This fee goes toward your final payment.
  4. Sign the Contract: To ensure everything is official, we’ll send over some paperwork for you to sign.
  5. Phone consultation: Before the session, we’ll schedule your phone consultation to discuss your vision for the session, preparation, outfits and more.
  6. Session Day: Enjoy the session! We’ll guide you through every step, from wardrobe styling to preparing your newborn for the session.
  7. Ordering appointment: In a few days after the session your ordering appointment will be scheduled. This is a video call when you’ll see all photos taken during the session, finalize your collection and choose album, wall art.

It’s ideal to book your session during your second trimester to ensure availability, but we are happy to accommodate larger babies or last-minute bookings as well. Please reach out to discuss your options!

We want to ensure fairness for all of our clients, so rates are as posted and apply to everyone. Discounts are available only when booking multiple sessions, such as Maternity + Newborn, through our “Bundle and Save” page. Please check this page for more details.

Pricing & Session Availability:

All rates are subject to change, so be sure to book early to lock in your rate and guarantee a spot on our calendar. We schedule sessions based on your baby’s due date, and we recommend that newborn sessions be booked when your baby is between 7-20 days old for the best results. If your baby is already born, don’t worry! We work with babies of all ages and can adjust the session as needed.

Last-Minute Bookings:

We understand that things don’t always go as planned, so if you need a last-minute booking, feel free to reach out to us. We’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Once you’ve reached out with your due date or baby’s birthdate, and selected the package that fits your needs, we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll handle all the details, including your consultation, wardrobe styling, and session planning. Your experience will be easy and stress-free from start to finish.

What is a “Setup”?

A “setup” is a complete composition made up of various elements, carefully crafted to create a beautiful and unique image of your newborn. A setup typically includes:

  • A background: This could be a soft fabric, a textured backdrop, or a scene designed with florals or greenery.
  • A prop or basket: I’ll use a variety of baskets, bowls, or other props to place your baby in.
  • Accessories: I love adding personal touches to each setup, like headbands, blankets, swaddles, toys, and floral elements. These details give each setup its own charm and personality. Accessories are often switched so the clients get a lot of variety within the same setup. 

I strive to create several different setups during your session, adding variety by adjusting props, colors, textures, and accessories. You’ll get a variety of images, capturing different aspects of your newborn’s beauty in each unique setup.

Macro Shots and Posing Table Details:

During your session, we’ll also capture macro shots—close-up images of your newborn’s delicate features like hands, feet, and other sweet details. These are intimate, artistic shots that beautifully highlight your baby’s tiny hands, feet, and facial features.

In addition, we’ll have your baby posed gently on a posing table. This is a soft and safe area where your baby can be positioned in various ways to create serene and elegant portraits. The posing table shots are intended to focus on your baby’s delicate expressions, hands, and feet, ensuring that we capture the essence of your newborn in a calm, comfortable setting.
